Day Camp Site Leader

Seasonal Work
The Day Camp Site Leader will work under the guidance of the Community Recreation Site Leader in administering the Day Camp program in Arthur and Mount Forest. The Day Camp Site Leader will provide direction to Assistant Site Leaders and Instructors and will perform ongoing evaluations of the program. It is the responsibility of the Day Camp Site Leader to ensure that policies and procedures are always adhered to and confirm that health and safety standards are followed. The Day Camp Site Leader will interact with parents, community groups and agencies. The Day Camp Site Leader will enforce all site rules and regulations.
Core Responsibilities:
- Ensure the safety of campers, instructors and volunteers always.
- Know, enforce, and follow all safety guidelines associated with the camp and all program areas. This includes but is not limited to being responsible for campers’ safety and their whereabouts at all times.
- Supervise and provide guidance to day camp assistant site leaders, instructors and volunteers.
- Schedule staff at day camp location based on the number camper registrations.
- Develop weekly communication newsletters for parents and caregivers.
- Organize and lead a variety of small and large group activities each week which may include crafts, nature walks, songs, games, opening and closing ceremonies, swimming, etc.
- Maintain good communication with parents of camp registrants and respond to parent questions and concerns to ensure satisfaction.
- Prepare and deliver staff training sessions.
- Other duties as assigned.
